New Year's Morning...OZONE!

Ozone (oh-zone-ee) is something we eat every New Year's Day for breakfast. It's almost better than the Japanese feast the night before...and a lot funner to make! You take a special Japanese rice and soak it overnight. Then, you heat it up (in microwave or special mochi maker...) until you get a firm, yet very sticky ball or rice. Separate it into little individual balls that you roll between your hands to get it oval-shaped. Eat plain with "shoyu" (soy sauce) and sugar mixed together or in the soup, "ozone."

Roll the pounded rice together in your hands
Don't forget the cornstarch so you don't burn your hands!
When all the rice has been rolled, get in cornstarch fight!
